First Step Complete!!

today I cleaned my apartment. This is the first step in the attempt to clear off my kitchen table by mounting the projector on the ceiling. I think it will make a big difference if I can have a nice place to prepare and eat food, and sit and do work without having the computer next to me to distract me. Also it will isolate the computer in another room as wellso that I am not faced with it as soon as I get home.

Today I only turned on the computer at 8:30pm, and because of that I was able to get a lot of things done. I think that this is a good way to keep myself on target. And a good way to beat the dreaded procrastination. I think I will take the time to listen to some of those hypnosis recording that are meant to tackle procrastination. It's almost like a disease, and it's killing me :S People are right when they say that the media is the opiant of the masses. I definately feel like I addicted to it. However as with many things like this I think that going cold turkey is not the way forward. If I view in moderation then I will enjoy what I watch much more I think.

Tomorrow I will wake up at 6:50 and do some skipping, have breakfast and then have a shower. I will also listen to one of my Pimsleur lessons while I have breakfast.

Small Steps

Well, I successfully installedsome blinds into the old apartment. They make the place seem bigger and also much more professional. I received my bluetooth portable keyboard through the mail and as well. So once my pda arrrives I can start working on some fiction in the spare moments that I have here and there.

Tomorrow I begin school again though it's not a working day so I will have the whole day to do as I please, so long as I do it in the school. I will probably use it to prepare my schedule, think about food and excercise schedules and routines and also perhaps prepare some lessons. My time and school is very good for doing these little things, and it helps me keep a certain amount of discipline by limiting the distractions that normally face me.

After work I think I will take the time to upload all the photos that I've organised roughly onto facebook, something which is long past due. Will be nice to have them up and also good to try and keep on top of uploading new ones as and when I take them with the Finepix camera.

Changing Man

Today I acheived some of the goals that I had set out to do, which is a start. My procrastination still played a major part in my day however. I've recently downloaded some self hypnosis recording that might help with it, I'll report on how well they work.

I always get inspired by the things that I watch but I need to actually make those inspiration a part of my life. I have to make them habits that are with me everyday. I won't to be a genius of hard work and dedication. The fruits of my labours will be my reward.

Tomorrow I will wake up at 8 o'clock, pack away my bed and start planning what excercise and nutrition I will need to accomplish the body aspect of my developement. I also need to get all my clothes washing done before the school term starts again. And speaking of the school term I need to prepare some lesson plans.

I think one of the best things that I can do is turn off the computer until I have done the things that I've said I will do. It is too much of a distraction and the benefits of having it on all the time are out weighed by this fact enormously.

Also, I'm going to invest in some curtains for my main room. It's not good for me to be sitting in the semi dark all the time. I'll feel better with some natural light coming in.

That's all for the moment I believe. I have to keep up this log. It is good for me to be aware of how I am developing. In this way I can grow to be the person that I want to be. You can beat yourself Matthew. You're your own worst enemy and you can beat yourself!!

Test and Testimony

This is a quick trial entry using scribefire. Hopefully using this method of blogging will make things quicker and easier than before. Thus in someway helping me to win the battle over procrastination and laziness ;)

Now I shall go and clear up my apartment and do some Japanese study I believe. A good start I think. I will plan what I'm going to do tomorrow as well so that I don't waste these few holiday days that I have left.

The Dream

Right now I feel as though I have so much potential, and that I am wasting it. I know that I cannot become a master of ever discipline, and so part of my discipline should be choosing the things which I would like to eventually master.

Everything begins and ends with training the mind and the body. Here are the things that I would like to train in those areas. It makes me think of Sherlock Holmes. He understood that the mind was limited and thus studied only what he needed and disregarded the rest. This is in a way what I am hoping to do here.

Mind

Japanese Study
Politics
Philosophy
Music
Writing/ Drawing

Body

Tai Chi
Stretching
Exercise
Nutrition
Juggling
Gymnastic Skills
Fighting Skills

Of course I understand that life cannot be purely all about self improvement. I also have to think about enjoying myself and relaxing. To this end here is a small list of things that I can do to relax.

Relax

Social Gatherings
Listening to music
Literature
Computer Games
Movies and TV

As well as relaxing there are other things which need consideration which would be considered necessary as opposed to anything else.

Necessary

Food Shopping
Cooking
Clothes Washing
Dish Washing
Cleaning
Lesson Plans
Marking
Test Writing

In order to try and acheive some of these things I have to try and organise myself first. Here are some of the things that I need to do.

Organise

Clean Apartment

Organise important documents

Organise computer

Make a weekly time table

Make a school time table

Thus ends this first entry. I will keep this updated with details on how I'm doing with acheiving some of these goals using the wonderful scribefire.
